Is your morning beverage harming your health?

Although organic coffee in moderation may be tolerated by some, most people are generally drinking coffee in excess. If you are like many people you may drink coffee cup after cup in an attempt to increase your energy by getting another “hit” of caffeine. The problem is instead of feeling more energized, you will start to experience energy crashes which can lead to more and more time on the caffeine roller coaster.

There are many symptoms people may experience from too much caffeine; besides the well-known “coffee jitters”. Other symptoms may include rapid heartbeat, anxiety and/or irritability, sweaty palms, fatigue, restlessness and insomnia. Lesser known symptoms of too much caffeine may include muscular pain and tension in the back and/or neck, skin rashes including psoriasis, and even obsessive-compulsive behaviors.

Too much caffeine can also trigger acid reflux, better known as heartburn. Caffeine lowers the pressure on the esophageal sphincter, allowing food to come back up the esophagus, which causes the uncomfortable burning sensations in the chest and in the throat. Like regular coffee, decaf coffee can also trigger heartburn because it is made from highly acidic coffee beans.

What is the answer to this? For certain health conditions, including sensitivity to coffee bean, Teecino is the perfect coffee substitute. Teeccino is non-acidic and the natural potassium from Teeccino’s ingredients helps alkalize the body, making it a perfect choice for people who suffer from too much acidity. Teeccino can be brewed just like coffee and has the full bodied, roasted flavor of coffee. Teeccino is also naturally caffeine free as opposed to decaf coffee, which uses harsh toxic chemicals to process out most but not all of the caffeine.

Because Sanoviv is a gluten free hospital; we recommend using the dandelion root formulas of Teeccino for our guests. Dandelion root is a very popular herb, which is often included in detox and cleansing diets due to its reputation for stimulating the liver and gallbladder.

Caroline MacDougal, the creator of Teeccino, combined certified organic, roasted dandelion root with Teeccino’s other ingredients including organic chicory root, organic carob pods, and organic and sustainably wild harvested ramon nuts to create a variety of dandelion flavors. Barley formulas are also available and naturally caffeine free.

Teeccino is doctor recommended because it also provides an energy boost from pinitol, a natural compound found in carob, one of Teeccino’s herbal ingredients, that reduces insulin resistance and helps reenergize the body.

It may seem like a bit of a task to get off the caffeine roller coaster, depending on how much caffeine you are currently consuming in a day. We recommend a step down approach which simply means adding Teeccino to your regular coffee a little at a time until you have weened yourself completely off the caffeine altogether. It may take up to a month to completely free yourself from the caffeine, but it will be worth it.
