Health is a state of complete physical, mental and social well-being, and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.  ~World Health Organization, 1948

The World Health Organization had it right, but it took nearly fifty years before a center that effectively addressed the complete state of well-being opened.  That center, Sanoviv Medical Institute, is like no other place on earth.  Join me for a tour.

The most common first contact for our guests – and yes, you are a guest, not a ‘patient’ or a ‘condition’ – is with our friendly Admissions team.  In fact, many of our guests request to meet their Admissions Advisor when they arrive on site because of the warm relationship that developed over the phone and internet.  Your Advisor will patiently answer every question, guide you through the medical history forms, and even make an appointment for you to speak with one of our treating physicians before you arrive.  No charge, of course.

As you arrive at Sanoviv, the tall gates open into a lush courtyard that includes our very own organic garden.  Although I have been through those gates innumerable times as both a guest and a staff member, I breathe more deeply when I enter the grounds and the word that rises in my heart is “home”.

Whether you’re arriving for an integrative physical, detox and spa week, or addressing complicated health concerns, you are greeted by your personal coordinator who will take you to your beautiful oceanfront suite.  Step out onto the balcony, inhale the fresh air, and let the waves welcome you.

Time to change into your organic cotton clothing, perhaps enjoy a shake or a meal, and embark upon your tour of Sanoviv.  Learn both the functional and historic aspects of your new home, as your coordinator takes you through each area.  Make a mental note to come back by the library for a book or two later, and enjoy the international art that was hand selected for you by our founder, Dr. Myron Wentz.

Leave the door to your balcony open and let the waves send you to sleep.  Tomorrow you will

awake to the sound of chimes, head to Special Care for vital signs, and begin your day.
