At Sanoviv, we see the importance of a balanced approach to cancer therapies. Not All standard treatments are bad and not all alternative treatments are good. In fact, we believe it is important to incorporate the best of each approach into an integrative therapy. Many of our natural and biological therapies have their roots in Europe where they have been practiced for many decades.

Our integrative form of oncology uses many traditional modalities such as high does vitamin C, Laetrile (B17), homeopathy and intravenous ozone therapy in combination with medical procedures such as regional hypothermia, hyperbaric oxygen and sometimes surgery (when indicated) to help our guests win the battle against cancer. Some of our guests chose to undergo chemotherapy at other facilities and come to Sanoviv for additional supportive therapies.

Our 5-part approach to overcoming cancer includes:

Detoxification involves removal of harmful substances from the body which is continually confronted with toxins. These toxins are found in the air we breathe, in the food we eat, in our clothes, in furniture and even in our mouth as dental toxins. In order to optimize the immune system response and reduce side effects of treatment, the body needs to be free of heavy metals and toxins. At Sanoviv, you are in a completely toxin-free environment to optimize healing. A detox regimen including calcium EDTA and other biological substances may be used to help the body rid itself of toxins, improving metabolic function. Dental treatment may be needed to eliminate additional sources of toxins.

Immune Modulation therapy brings the ratio of different types of immune cells back into balance so that they can perform their critical function to search, detect, and destroy foreign or diseased cells. Balancing the immune system is much better than simply stimulating the immune system (which could cause it to overreact and attack healthy cells). Restoring healthy immune function is especially important for those with cancer.

At Sanoviv, we accomplish this by administering Transfer Factors. These are very small molecules, found in all species, that help cells to communicate with and identify one another. Transfer Factors are polypeptides (44 amino acids). Because of their small size (less than 5kDa), they do not trigger allergic reactions. They work by modulating TH1-TH2 helper cells and cytokines, improving the body’s ability to detect fungi, parasites, intracellular organisms, viruses, and cancer. Transfer factors also have the ability to suppress an overreacting immune system.

The use of Transfer Factors to balance and restore immune function is backed by 25 years of research and clinical experience. Recent discoveries include more powerful Transfer Factors extracted from the spleen of crocodiles and sharks. Correcting immune defects and imbalances can improve outcomes for cancer patients.

Substitution involves giving the body the substances it needs to regain health. We apply orthomolecular medicine, which uses vitamins, minerals and amino acids to promote health and healing in the body. High intravenous doses of these substances show a pharmaceutical effect and can have an immediate impact on the immune system and metabolism. Since the days of Linus Pauling, orthomolecular medicine has been traditionally used in biological oncology to reduce tumor size, kill cancer cells, curb the spread of cancer and improve the quality of life.

We use different therapeutic interventions to enhance your body’s ability to destroy cancer cells, while respecting the integrity of normal, healthy cells. These are done in conjunction with other therapies to synergize their potency while diminishing side effects. Regional hyperthermia is used to heat up tumor material causing its metabolism to break down. Tumors do not tolerate temperatures over 41 degrees centigrade. Because of their primitive blood supply, tumors are not able to easily divert heat. The metabolism of tumor cells is different to that of healthy cells. This makes them a target for regional hyperthermia. This therapy is used in combination with other modalities such as high dose vitamin C, laetrile (B17), hyperbaric oxygen and orthomolecular medicine.

Our psychologists help guide guests toward recognizing patterns in their lives that may have made them susceptible to cancer. This may include providing solutions for stress management and lifestyle coaching. Through different forms of bodywork and mind-body healing, inner balance is increased, internal stress is released and the self-healing powers of the body are stimulated.

Dry Skin Brushing for Better Health

Important facts about your skin -

The skin is the largest most important eliminative organ in the body and is responsible for one quarter of the body’s detoxification each day.

  1. The skin eliminates over one pound of waste acids each day in the average adult, most of it through the sweat glands.
  2. That the skin is known also as our third kidney.
  3. That the skin receives one third of all the blood circulated in the body.
  4. That the skin is the last to receive nutrients in the body, yet the first to show signs of imbalance or deficiency.

Detoxification is performed by a number of organs, glands, and transportation systems, including the skin, gut, kidneys, liver, lungs, lymphatic system, and mucous membranes.
The dry skin brushing technique deals with detoxification of the skin.

Dry brushing stimulates all the above organs; thus aiding in detoxification because it provides a gentle internal massage.

Benefits of Dry Skin Brushing:

 1. Cleanses the lymphatic system and stimulates the lymph canals to drain toxic mucoid matter into the colon, thereby purifying the entire system. This enables the lymph to perform its house-cleaning duties by keeping the blood and other vital tissues detoxified. NOTE: After several days of dry brushing, you may notice the gelatinous mucoid material in your stools.

2. Removes dead skin layers which can help improve skin texture and cell renewal.

3. Strengthens the immune system.

4. Stimulates the hormone and oil-producing glands.

5. Tightens the skin by increasing the flow of blood, thereby preventing premature aging..

6. Stimulates circulation to skin, encouraging your body’s discharge of metabolic wastes, which greatly aids the lymphatic drainage of the entire body. When the body rids itself of toxins, it is able to run more efficiently in all areas.

7. Improves the function of the nervous system.

8. Helps aid digestion – helps your skin to absorb nutrients by eliminating clogged pores.

9. Healthy, breathing skin contributes to overall body health.

10. Dry skin brushing helps with muscle tone and more even distribution of fat deposits.

11. Dry skin brushing also rejuvenates the nervous system by stimulating nerve endings in       the skin.

12. Individuals who sit at a computer screen all day long will particularly take pleasure in the benefits of skin brushing. People who have inactive lifestyles or jobs usually experience stiff and sore necks and shoulders that reach into their arms and down their spines and into their lower backs. Increased blood flow begins entering the areas brushed and you will experience an increase in electromagnetic energy that permits you to feel energized and invigorated.

13. Removes toxic cellulite. Cellulite is made up of toxic materials that are accumulated in your body’s fat cells as they are unable to be eliminated. So, rather than liposuction surgery, try utilizing the “dry skin brushing” techniques combined with an alkaline diet program and a great exercising routine. It will break down the unwelcome toxic body deposits and send them out of your body through the elimination channels discussed above

Tips for Dry Skin Brushing:

Always brush your dry body before you shower or bathe because you will want to wash off the impurities from the skin that are a result from the brushing action.

You can do the brushing head-to-toe or toe-to-head.  It doesn’t matter as long as the entire body is brushed. Long sweeping strokes starting from the bottom of your feet upwards, and from the hands towards the shoulders, and on the torso in an upward direction towards your heart, to help drain the lymph back to your heart.
IMPORTANT: Stroking away from your heart puts extra pressure on the valves within the veins and lymph vessels and can cause ruptured vessels and varicose veins.

Use a lighter pressure in areas where the skin is thin and harder pressure on places like the soles of the feet.

Skin brushing should be performed once a day, preferably first thing in the morning.  A thorough skin brushing takes about 15 minutes, but any time spent brushing prior to bathing will benefit the body.

If you are feeling ill, increasing the treatments to twice a day is good.

You can also dry brush areas of cellulite five to 10 minutes twice a day to help achieve cellulite dissolving. This technique needs to be done consistently for a minimum of five months.

Avoid sensitive areas and anywhere the skin is broken; such as areas of skin rash, wounds, cuts, and infections. Also, never brush an area affected by poison oak or poison ivy.

Finish up with your regular shower and ending with three hot and cold cycles. That means turning on the water as hot as you can take it for several seconds, then as cold as you can handle it, then hot, then cold for three cycles. End with either hot or cold. This will further invigorate the skin and stimulate blood circulation, bringing more blood to the outer layers of the skin.

After getting out of the shower
, dry off vigorously and massage your skin with pure plant oils such as olive, avocado, apricot, almond, sesame, coconut or cocoa butter. Add a little peanut and Castor oil to the mix if you have arthritis. This will help relieve some of the pain.

Clean your skin brush using soap and water once a week. After rinsing, you should dry your skin brush in an open, sunny spot to prevent mildew.

If you follow these guidelines in about 30 days you will begin to see and experience the changes. Please remember to be patient and keep up with the program daily.

For a thorough lymphatic cleansing
, perform dry skin brushing daily for a minimum of three months.

The Sanoviv Experience – Putting Your Mind at Ease

June 6, 2012

I haven’t been to see a doctor and hadn’t been to the dentist in over 4 years.  They both scare me to death.

Since I was in high school (I’m currently 36 years old), I had always worried and wondered where my health status was at.  I was nervous to come because it had been so long since I had seen a doctor.  But I was immediately put at ease when I met the Sanoviv driver at the San Diego International Airport (Sanoviv arranged everything).  The drive into Mexico and to Sanoviv was a piece of cake- I felt safe the entire time.  I was greeted at the door by Ivan whose job was to schedule my days and answer my questions.

Day 1 consisted of  lunch and dinner, an orientation and getting to know the beautiful facilities.

Day 2 consisted of a COMPLETE physical exam: clinical blood draws, doctor’s exam, dental exam, x-ray, ultrasound, psychological consultation, chiropractic consult, and a Swedish massage!

Day 3 consisted of some more testing, educational classes, meditation, a great workout, and my first pedicure.

My last day consisted of more meditation, stretching, a workout, educational classes, a dental appointment to address some minor issues, another chiropractic session  to address some posture issues, medical consultation to talk about ALL of my tests.  Where else in the world can you see so many different doctors in such a short time.  On top of all that, they ALL work together to discuss your results.

I was simply blown away by the integration, quality of care and how relaxed I was the entire time.  And now with a clean bill of health and a few lifestyle recommendations to help myself live even better, my mind is completely at ease.
