THE SANOVIV INTEGRATIVE APPROACH TO CANCER

At Sanoviv, we see the importance of a balanced approach to cancer therapies. Not All standard treatments are bad and not all alternative treatments are good. In fact, we believe it is important to incorporate the best of each approach into an integrative therapy. Many of our natural and biological therapies have their roots in Europe where they have been practiced for many decades.

Our integrative form of oncology uses many traditional modalities such as high does vitamin C, Laetrile (B17), homeopathy and intravenous ozone therapy in combination with medical procedures such as regional hypothermia, hyperbaric oxygen and sometimes surgery (when indicated) to help our guests win the battle against cancer. Some of our guests chose to undergo chemotherapy at other facilities and come to Sanoviv for additional supportive therapies.

Our 5-part approach to overcoming cancer includes:

DETOXIFICATION

Detoxification involves removal of harmful substances from the body which is continually confronted with toxins. These toxins are found in the air we breathe, in the food we eat, in our clothes, in furniture and even in our mouth as dental toxins. In order to optimize the immune system response and reduce side effects of treatment, the body needs to be free of heavy metals and toxins. At Sanoviv, you are in a completely toxin-free environment to optimize healing. A detox regimen including calcium EDTA and other biological substances may be used to help the body rid itself of toxins, improving metabolic function. Dental treatment may be needed to eliminate additional sources of toxins.

IMMUNE MODULATION

Immune modulation involves bringing the ratio of the different immune cells back into balance to enable the immune system to function correctly. This is very different from simply stimulating the immune system. Restoring healthy immune functions is especially important for those with cancer. Thymus extract [THX] is an aminopeptide therapy (also known as live cell extracts) commonly used in Germany as part of biological oncology protocols. Studies have shown that THX can boost the t-lymphocyte production and can improve outcomes in cancer patients.

SUBSTITUTION

Substitution involves giving the body the substances it needs to regain health. We apply orthomolecular medicine, which uses vitamins, minerals and amino acids to promote health and healing in the body. High intravenous doses of these substances show a pharmaceutical effect and can have an immediate impact on the immune system and metabolism. Since the days of Linus Pauling, orthomolecular medicine has been traditionally used in biological oncology to reduce tumor size, kill cancer cells, curb the spread of cancer and improve the quality of life.

ANTI-CANCER THERAPIES

We use different therapeutic interventions to enhance your body’s ability to destroy cancer cells, while respecting the integrity of normal, healthy cells. These are done in conjunction with other therapies to synergize their potency while diminishing side effects. Regional hyperthermia is used to heat up tumor material causing its metabolism to break down. Tumors do not tolerate temperatures over 41 degrees centigrade. Because of their primitive blood supply, tumors are not able to easily divert heat. The metabolism of tumor cells is different to that of healthy cells. This makes them a target for regional hyperthermia. This therapy is used in combination with other modalities such as high dose vitamin C, laetrile (B17), hyperbaric oxygen and orthomolecular medicine.

MIND-BODY MEDICINE

Our psychologists help guide guests toward recognizing patterns in their lives that may have made them susceptible to cancer. This may include providing solutions for stress management and lifestyle coaching. Through different forms of bodywork and mind-body healing, inner balance is increased, internal stress is released and the self-healing powers of the body are stimulated.

The Importance of Cholesterol by Alberto Isaac Meza MD

Cholesterol is a vital molecule, without which all of us would die.  It has been demonized by the makers of statin drugs and as a result, most people have become conditioned to avoid foods containing cholesterol. This is a big mistake that can place a bigger burden on the body since cholesterol supports the body’s needs. It helps us to make Vitamin D, sex hormones, and steroid hormones.  It is also essential to all of our cell membranes and important to the brain for nerve signal function. It also plays a role in the metabolism of fats and our immune defenses. Therefore suppressing or avoiding cholesterol can deprive us of several important nutrients and impair many body functions.

Here at Sanoviv we recognize the importance of cholesterol as a remarkable and necessary substance.
The cholesterol-heart disease theory is a myth, and there are many studies that actually support this fact. We also improve the body’s utilization of this important nutrient that is mainly made in the liver, although some is obtained from food. Cholesterol is not the big elephant in the room; it is not the underlying cause of the #1 killer in the world (heart disease).  What really contributes to the world epidemic of cardiovascular disease is oxidized cholesterol or small density cholesterol molecules in addition to sugar, inflammation from gastrointestinal tract, dental inflammation (gums) as well as toxicity and heavy metals.

It is important to reduce cardiovascular risk, but focusing on cholesterol is not the answer. At Sanoviv we reduce risk by using nutrients and educating about diet and lifestyle.  Our focus includes the following tips:

  • Improve blood vessel health by using a combination of magnesium, activated folic acid, B-complex vitamins, balanced essential fatty acids, L-arginine and other key nutrients.
  • The best way to improve your body’s utilization of cholesterol is by using balanced essential fatty acids, fermented garlic, Coenzyme Q10, L-carnitine, chromium, curcumin, quercetin, niacin, vitamin E, and resveratrol.
  • Support the liver which is where most blood cholesterol is produced.  A good liver formula includes nutrients such as milk thistle, N-acetyl-cysteine, alpha lipoic acid and turmeric.
  • Reduce stress and practice regular physical activity and breathing exercises. Spend time outdoors.
  • Eat healthy cholesterol-enriched foods like eggs, liver and oysters along with fermented foods such as yogurt and fermented vegetables. Eat sulfur rich foods like garlic and onions. Avoid sugar and hydrogenated oils (most processed foods) and drink plenty of pure water.

Sanoviv recommends the following books to help you better understand the importance of cholesterol and the myths surrounding the use of drug therapy for the prevention of heart disease:

Flossing Before Brushing?

by Abdiel Marquez DDS, Sanoviv Dental

Did you know? Flossing before brushing gives you an opportunity to clear out the space between teeth, which will allow the toothpaste to do its job more thoroughly. Furthermore, it loosens all of the food particles and bacteria that will be washed away while brushing and rinsing.

However, the real concern is whether or not you floss. Most people have been instructed to floss after brushing and this is much better than not flossing at all. This will remove food particles and bacteria from your teeth that have just been brushed clean, which is why flossing before brushing makes good sense.

Tips

Rinsing first

Rinsing before you floss and brush loosens food particles and buildup, making brushing even more effective.

Don’t leave your toothbrush in the bathroom

The odors in the bathroom are ferments, vapors, bacteria and viruses that come out from urine and feces all over the bathroom floating, seeking for a damp place to cultivate (toothbrushes bristles).

Recent studies have found the following bacteria in toothbrush bristles, which can be the cause of various stomach or intestinal illnesses:

Serratia
Escherichia coli
Giardia
Salmonellosis

Viruses

Most people (7 of 10) leave their toothbrushes in the bathroom.  The toothbrush should be stored in a dry place outside the bathroom or covered with a suitable case.

Remember to brush a minimum of 2 times per day but preferably after each meal for optimal oral health.

We recommend PerioClear mouthwash (http://www.sanovivstore.com/perioclear–alcoholfree-mouthwash.html) and PerioScript concentrate for oral irrigators (http://www.sanovivstore.com/perioscript-oral-cleansing-concentrate.html)
